                                              The Melvin Cottrell Center for Senior Citizens and the Disabled

 

 Jackson Township offers a community center- Melvin Cottrell Center for Senior Citizens and the Disabled at 45 Don Connor Boulevard, Jackson, New Jersey 08527.

Funded by the Township of Jackson, NJ, their mission is to serve as a community focal point for senior services.  Programs are open to all patrons 50 years of age and older.  Reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

  • TRANSPORTATION- to the senior center and shopping locations Monday thru Friday.  Pick up approx 8 a.m., Returning between 2 and 2:30 p.m.
  • Eligibility requirements: Patron must be 50 years and have completed a registration form
  • Reserve a seat by calling before 2PM the day prior the travel date
  • Calling to cancel a day patron does not expect to participate

 

  • SCHEDULE INCLUDES TRIPS TO:
  • Ocean County Mall, Indina Head, Bricktown
  • Freehold Raceway Mall
  • Bennetts Mills Plaza- Jackson Shop-Rite, Banks (2x/week)
  • K-Mart, Pathmark, Walmart, Kohl's, Michael's, Target, Lowe's, Shop-Rite (Lakewood) (2x/week

 

  • OCEAN RIDE, weekly shopping transportation to various shopping locations in Ocean County.  Call in advance reservation.
  • MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION is provided by the County on a space-available basis.  Priority to dialysis patients.  2 week minimum advance reservation advisable.
  • RECREATION PROGRAMS at the senior center include weekly arts, crafts, ceramics, toy workshop, line dancing, health n fitness, Knit n crochet, quilting class, painting class, games.  Monthly blood pressure, legla forum, moives, cooking class, trivia challenge.
  • SPECIAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
